DAKOTA

We have no back history on Dakota she was picked up as a stray with no microchip as we had no name she was named by one of our volunteers, so we welcome Dakota to LBDR.

Some of the kennel staff call her Rosie well she does have a Rosie attitude to life. She does not seem to mind what she is called, as long as she knows she is going to get attention.

What has been discovered is she loves to play, runs around like a steam train, she loves playing catch and is learning to drop/release the ball. She also loves small teddies.

When on lead she walks well with no distractions, walking past other dogs she will pull strongly on the lead. With strength and a firm hand she will listen to commands.

When in her pen and walking past neighbours inside the kennel block she does not react but we would say for her to be an only dog and work on her social skills with other dogs. Dakota has been used for breeding this could be a reason why she is not keen on other dogs at the moment.

With female handlers she loves attention and is a big lovable and heavy pup. With male handlers she is more wary of their movements but still very happy to be with them.

Foodwise she is very easy a large bowl of chicken flavoured meat and biscuits. We estimate Dakota to be around 2 years of age.

As we have no history we will not home Dakota with young children maybe teenagers. We have no way of cat testing Dakota
