YUMI
Yumi came into us from the pound in April, she was not in good condition and had recently had pups. She had bite wounds on her legs and needed to have a course of antibiotics. Because of this we had to wait until the time was right for her to be spayed.
This has now been done so no more pups for this little girl. She had been bred far too young. She by her condition and the way she acted we believe she had never really been treated well and probably never received love or played games was not aware what a toy was.
With what she must have been through she is quite confident. In the beginning she would plays with toys on her own and has now learnt to play with humans. Below is what her foster home has to say about her. Yumi came to us as a stray a few months ago, as she had no name we decided to call her Yumi which in Japanese means beautiful since that time she has improved greatly.
From the condition she was in it appears she didn't have a great start in life. She suffers both physically and mentally from the scars of her previous life before coming to us. She is approximately about a year old. She thought it was great fun to attack your feet and hands but not in a playful way. This has changed for the better but sometimes when she gets over excited she can still forget herself. Therefore we don't recommend her going with small children.
It's only these last few days that she has really started to play by herself and with us. She is house trained, can be left for a few hours in her crate. She hasn't damaged anything except cardboard boxes she loves to rip them up.
Takes treats very nicely. We know its naughty, but her favourite treat is Swizzers Parma Violets, Don't ask!!!!!! Really loves human company, to the point if she wants attention she will just come and plonk herself on your lap. She snores for England so she sleeps on the landing in her crate after a cuddle on the bed with us, so we can get some sleep.
She is good on the lead and the most part ignores most things we meet. Last night with the fireworks she was as good as gold. We did expect hassles with her but we just ignored them and after her first initial yap she settled down and ignored them too. We have supper at about 9pm most nights, to fit in with my tablet regimen.
As soon as its finished she picks up her favourite piece of bone and starts to parade in front of us, till we turn in at about 10ish. Then she herds us up stairs to bed. Has a cuddle then falls asleep, only to be woken up and put in her crate when we finish reading.
She's no trouble over night, is great in the car. Is petrified of vets, or at least being left there. she has made leaps and bounds in the time with us.
